Get Ready for Lollapalooza 2014

One of the most anticipated shows of the year is the acclaimed music festival, Lollapalooza. First organized in 1991, it has grown into a must-see event for anyone interested in alternative rock and modern pop music. Neither the 2014 artist lineup nor event dates are officially announced, so you will want to keep your eyes open for Lollapalooza tickets and information.

History and Future of the Event

The festival is a three-day tour de force of bands and musical talent played on several stages at the same time. The word “lollapalooza, a word meaning an extraordinary thing or event, describes the chaos and excitement that surrounds the festival. Established as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction, it has subsequently grown into the Windy City’s signature music experience. Each year the festival is held in Chicago, with recent exploration into taking the tour to other countries. Brazil and Chile have so far had good responses to their own Lollapalooza events, and the festival is set to debut in Argentina sometime in 2014 as well.

Biggest Names in Modern Rock

Over 140,000 Lollapalooza tickets are sold every year to see hundreds of performers, as Chicago’s Grant Park plays host to an incredibly diverse collection of musical talent. The concert event routinely draws the biggest names in the music business and provides something for nearly everyone. You can even take your kids with you as there is a special venue for Kidzapalooza. Last year, some of the headliners were Lollapalooza veterans Nine Inch Nails, as well as Imagine Dragons, The Killers, and a special performance by The Cure. Your one problem with Lollapalooza is that it is impossible to see every performance because there are simply too many awesome things happening at once.

Preparing for a Fun Filled Summer

It is likely that you will be able to purchase Lollapalooza tickets early in the summer of 2014 as the show will be held in August. If you are a disciple of the rock music scene, this is a perfect way to finish off a summer filled with concerts and music events. Even if you go to concerts only occasionally, this is considered by some to be a rite of passage. You cannot know what a music festival can be like until you attend Lollapalooza.
